Hasbro Electronic Hyper Slide Review

Customer Reviews

By K. Kelley "Fearless Girl" (CA, USA)
The Hyper Slide turned out to be so much fun! It is fast paced and challenging. I love it because even though there is a two year age difference, my boys play together all the time. Even their little sister has gotten into playing and loves the one player option. She is only four and is improving daily at the add one game. It helps her with her memorization which is cool. It doesn't require much room, just a smooth table. Also, easy to put away with a compartment for all of the peices. Definately a perfect toy for the whole family.

By groff5 "groff5" (Metamora, IL USA)
We have now purchased 4 of these games as gifts, after seeing one at a demo last summer and buying it for ourselves. It is great fun for the whole family, and you can play 1 on 1 or by yourself. I'm not much of a "gamer" but this one is great!

By B. Junkin-Mills "brookemom" (West Chester, PA United States)
Wow am I ever disappointed in amazon. They were selling this for under $20 ten days ago. Now it's $58? I just went and picked it up at Target for $18... and they had plenty of 'em. I will never again buy from amazon without shopping around. This degree of markup is disgusting.

By mbcz "mbcz" (nomandland)
This little toy is great, the kids (8 and up) love playing with it. Within 5 minutes of opening the toy they were able to play with it. Very simple rules allows them to jump right in. The toy looks well made and has a convenient space to store the discs when not in use. Its also a fun game for an adult to play with their kids. You can make the game as challenging or as easy as you want by varying the distance from which the discs are thrown.

By Karen R. "socker mom" (chicago)
I bought this almost two weeks ago and we haven't stopped playing it! My husband is even playing it with the kids, he hasn't done this in years. Fantastic!

By A. Covington "mom of 3" (Arkansas)
This is a great product and very entertaining, but the price on amazon is ridiculous. This product is about 20.00 at Walmart.

Webkinz Reindeer, December 18, 2007
By Kathy F. Eselhorst (Lawrenceville GA)
Durability: Fun: Educational: Since one webkinz is not enough for my great niece, she selects the ones she wants and she really wanted this one. The delivery was great (even though not fast enough for her--she doesn't recognize the money part). The item was perfect and she really enjoys it. Thank you

Webkinz Reindeer, December 14, 2007
By L. Buchas (Kensington, CT USA)
Durability: Fun: Educational: This was the first time buying a Webkinz. It was for my Nephew's birthday present. I really did not know much about them. I was surprised how soft and cuddly it was. Very well made. It came in time for his birthday. I had to research these online to see what they were about so I could understand what I was buying. My Nephew loves it. I will also buy the Penquin for him. (This is on his Christmas list). Its more than just a stuffed toy. I would recommend Webkinz. Although, my nephew will have to show me what you do online with them. Seams like a safe online interactive toy. From what I understand these are very popular with the kids. Thanks.

Make sure your child is ready for a Webkinz!, December 6, 2007
By A. Brand "redsoxgirlinVA" (Chesapeake, VA)
Durability: Fun: Educational: Make sure your child is ready for a Webkinz before buying this or any other one! My son wasn't ready when he got one last year - he was completely overwhelmed by the website and very disappointed. So we put it away until now, when he's more mature and has seen others play online. But little did I know that use of the website expires after a year! They send you a notice - but only on the site - so if you're not on the site, you don't know. There's a one month grace period, and then that's it - you can no longer use that Webkinz pet online. Now it is simply a so-so stuffed animal Their answer? Buy another one!

Webkinz reindeer, December 11, 2007
By JJ Mom "Jen" (Florida)
Durability: Fun: Educational: Webkinz in general are the new beanie babies with a modern twist - the technology of the internet. It is genius marketing actually because kids want them so they can go online and care for them and play games. The website keeps you coming back with things like the Wheel of WOW and a job center where you can only do so much in one day. Its all perfectly harmless fun and there's even some learning involved too. Now they even sell Webkinz clothes and who knows what will come next to buy for them. Overall, its good clean fun for the kids and genius marketing makes for a good product. It's parent friendliness is pretty high also because they are pretty reasonably priced and require no batteries. The accoutrements are a bit much, but that is up to the parents to control. It's a good way to get kids to do their chores to earn extra money to buy Webkinz clothes, right?!

Hasbro Electronic Hyper Slide

Product Description
Amazon.com Product Description
Be quick, pick the right colored hyper disc, and flick it under the arch before time runs out. The Hyper Slide from Hasbro packs three fast-paced electronic table-top games into one compact unit. Recommended for ages eight and up, these fast-sliding games for one or two players are fun and exciting for kids and adults. see on

Fun, Futuristic Table Top Game
With its sleek, arched design, Hyper Slide looks like a futuristic game. Resembling a hockey game for a table top, the object is to flip the pucks through the goal. However, in these games the goal can be scored from both sides of the arch, and there are four different-colored pucks, called hyper discs. The game's electronic unit calls out a color, and you must pick that color and sent it through the arc. It automatically detects whether you've passed the right disc or not. When not in operation, the hyper discs can be conveniently stored in a compartment on the side of the arch.

Three Games for Solo Play or Two-Person Play
The Hyper Slide offers a few variations of play for your enjoyment. Two lighted buttons on the top of the Hyper Slide make it easy to choose which of the three games you want to play.
While the objects of the games are simple, playing them can be a fun challenge.
The first game, "Fast Pass," is all about speed. The game commands a color and you've got to pass it through the goal quickly before the buzzer blasts. With "Add One," you've got to remember the order of colors.
You start with a color and add one to the sequence each time you complete a round. "Code Buster" gives you 90 seconds to decipher the secret series of colors.
Best of all, you can play all these games with a friend or by yourself.
With both "Fast Pass" and "Add One," you can even play head-to-head with another player or team. For solo play, the rubber "hyper band" is attached under the arch, bouncing the discs back to your side.

Put to the Test
Playing on any smooth, nonmetal surface, you'll be surprised how much fun the Hyper Slide really is. An announcer's voice, high-energy music, and sound effects move these games along. With your head in the game, you'll soon block out all the noise and only hear the color to flick, slide, or shoot through the arch. Unfortunately, if the constant voice directions are not your thing, the game can't be played without these sounds, nor can the volume be adjusted. On the plus side, the Hyper Slide announces your score at the end of each competition and keeps track of the highest score for each game. This electronic system runs on three "AAA" batteries (sold separately). If the Hyper Slide goes unused for two minutes, this smartly designed toy "goes to sleep," saving battery life until the player buttons are pressed.

Pros
3 fast-paced games for 2-person and solo play
Lighted buttons make it easy to switch through games
Games remember high scores
Electronic game shuts off on its own
Cons
Game must be played with announcer and music going
Volume can't be controlled
What's in the Box
Hyper Slide electronic game, hyper band, and 4 hyper discs.
